At last!!! I can post the cover for my book. It is beyond my expectations and I'm so very happy about it. I think it combines the narrative elements of the book very well. There's a wistfulness to it -- while also being fun and whimsical. I never could have come up with anything like this on my own. Here I thought the film world was all about collaboration and in the publishing world you are all alone. Not true! You don't really consider how many talented people are involved in the production of one book (editor! copy editor! marketing department! art department! publicity! the list goes on!), but I'm certainly discovering it as I go. I feel very lucky to have the support of all these people at Random House. I've also gotten a tentative date for the book's release: 11/11/11. How cool is that??? Okay, it's really November 8, but I've decided to add three days, because, come on, wouldn't you?

Thanks! I'm very excited about it. Even my mom has chimed in to tell me how much she likes it, which is nice! 2/16/2011 08:43:48 am

This unworthy one would like to interview you for a modest blog when "don't expect magic" is released.

We are SO PROUD of you and thrilled to see your name on the front of this fabulous cover for you book! I'd write more but your obsession with editing has left me paranoid I'll misuse a word. After all, momma used to refer to me as Miss Malaprop growing up. Comments are closed.
